Lost In Translation
When the original meaning of something or information is lost when it is translated into another language. Though, commonly used to describe misconstrued information of the same language.
Why it matters
Culturally insensitive phrase, placing blame on the listener for not understanding an instruction or what was said. It implies the listener is lesser than them or by not understanding the original language, they lack intellectual comprehension. More so problematic when English is a second language, which is intellectually skilful.
