Native
A person associated with or born in a specified place. Sometimes used in IT to describe something there first or previously.
Why it matters
In many cases, the term is not offensive. However, best practice is to avoid using socially-charged terms for technical concepts e.g. native feature and first-class citizen. Best also to avoid referring to people in divisive ways e.g. 'non/native speakers' or 'the natives' to describe those outside of the 'white western world'.
