Tribe
A racially sensitive term, often used in marketing, organisations, or even family & friends to describe a group of people as an informal collective noun.
Why it matters
The word 'Tribe' has a history of being used to describe division along ethnic or racial lines and, in some cases, associated with primitiveness. It may also be associated with colonialism and considered cultural appropriation when using it to describe a group of people who are not of a nation.
